About Gialina

Gialina is named after my grandmother Nonnie Lina. It is a tribute to my wonderful Italian family, who came from a town in Italy’s culinary heartland of Emilia-Romagna. As seen in the restaurant’s family photos, Nonnie liked to surround herself with food and family. My family taught me everything I know and love about food, cooking and enjoying life. Most importantly though, that cooking food for others is a great gift.

Our menu is built around what is fresh and seasonal. We source as much as we can from local farms Star Route, Mariquita & Martin B.

The menu consists of fresh antipasti and salads, delicious thin-crust pizzas and a roast of the day. If you are gluten free we have gluten free crusts for you and we can make any pizza gluten free. We also have several decadent desserts, all made in-house, so save a little room. Cheers!

About the Chef

Sharon Ardiana brings close to 45 years of professional cooking experience to the restaurant. She grew up with a food-loving Italian family in a home where an abundant Victory Garden provided daily inspiration for the kitchen.

Sharon attended The Restaurant School in Philadelphia and moved to San Francisco in 1989. She honed her skills over the years at highly regarded restaurants including Boulevard, Gordon Biersch and The Slow Club.

In January 2007, Sharon opened Gialina, named for her grandmother. The neighborhood pizzeria served as the anchor for Glen Park's revitalization and remains a perennial neighborhood favorite and is proud to have been a SF Chronicle Top 100 restaurant for 6 consecutive years!. Her second restaurant, Ragazza, brought a more extensive menu of pizza, pasta, and seasonally inspired salads to the Divisadero corridor in 2010 and is a neighborhood favorite.
